Most of the furniture we use in our life is produced by Furniture Mould, which are tools for producing plastic products. It is mainly used in the industrial field. The gating system of furniture mould is a group of feeding channels that lead the plastic melt from the nozzle of the injection machine to the mould cavity. It usually consists of the main channel, branch channel, gate and cold material cavity. Which parts are the gating system of furniture mould made up of?

1. Cold Material Holes

It is a cavity at the end of the main runner to capture the cold material generated between the two injections at the end of the nozzle, thus preventing blockage of the shunt runner or gate. If the cold material is mixed into the cavity, internal stress will easily occur in the product. The diameter of the cold material cavity is about 8-10mm and the depth is 6 mm. In order to facilitate demolding, the bottom of the demoulding rod is usually taken care of. The top of the demoulding rod should be designed into a zigzag hook shape or provided with sunken grooves so as to smoothly pull out the main runner vegetation during demoulding.

2. Diverting way

It is the channel connecting the main channel and each cavity in the multi-slot die. In order to fill each cavity with molten material at equal speed, the distribution of shunt channels on the plastic mould should be symmetrical and equidistant. The shape and size of the cross-section of the shunt channel have an impact on the flow of plastic melt, the demoulding of products and the difficulty of mould manufacturing.

3. Main Roads

It is a passage in the mould connecting the injection nozzle of the injection moulding machine to the shunt passage or the cavity. The top of the main runner is concave to connect with the nozzle. The inlet diameter of the main channel should be slightly larger than the nozzle diameter (0.8mm) to avoid spillage and to prevent interception due to an improper connection between the two. The diameter of the inlet depends on the size of the product and is generally 4-8 mm. The diameter of the main runner should be enlarged inward at an angle of 3 to 5 so as to facilitate demolding of the runner vegetation.

4. Gate

The gate, also known as the feed inlet, is a narrow opening between the runner and the mould cavity and is also the shortest and thinnest part of the meat. Its function is to use the tight flow surface to accelerate the plastic. The high shear rate can make the plastic have good fluidity (due to the shear-thinning property of the plastic); The heating effect of viscous heating also has the effect of increasing the material temperature and reducing the viscosity.

After the moulding is completed, the gate is solidified and sealed first, which has the functions of preventing the plastic from flowing back and preventing the pressure in the mould cavity from falling too fast and causing the moulded product to shrink and sag. After moulding, it is convenient to cut off to separate the runner system and plastic parts.
