Before designing the parting surface of the dustbin mould, the shape and position of the parting line on the plastic part must be determined first. When the mould opening direction is determined, it is easier to determine the parting line. Because the projection of the parting line in the mould opening direction coincides with the projected outer contour line of the plastic part in that direction, a straight line parallel to the mould opening direction can be used to move along the projected outer contour line of the object, and the intersection of the straight line and the surface of the object at each position can be found.

(1) If the straight line intersects with the surface of the object at a point, the point is the point on the parting line of the dustbin mould.

(2) If the straight line intersects the surface of the object in a straight line segment, any point on this straight line segment can be used as a point on the parting line. The principle of determining which point is used as a point on the parting line is generally based on the shortest connecting line with the adjacent points. It can also be determined through interaction.

(3) The straight line and the object intersect at multi-point and multi-segment straight line segments, which indicates that the intersection of the global approach cone and the mould opening direction is 0. Therefore, the core pulling is designed in the region, and the parting line should be determined according to the shape and size of the core pulling.
